Job Description
Assistant Professor of Physics, Position No.83815, University of Hawaii at Hilo, nine-month, tenure-track appointment to begin August 2010. Teach physics courses (lecture and labs) at all undergraduate levels. Advise students, publish in peer-reviewed journals, maintain active research program in experimental physics, preferably atmospheric, cosmic ray or telescope instrumentation, participate in community and university service activities. Requirements
Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. from an accredited college or university in 
experimental physics or a closely related discipline. Teaching experience in
physics, research experience in area of expertise, and demonstrated ability
to work with students.
Desirable Qualifications: Demonstrated success in teaching undergraduate 
physics courses; demonstrated record of student advising and training;
expertise in atmospheric physics, cosmic ray physics, or telescope
instrumentation; success in obtaining research funds; ability to teach
lower-division engineering courses; experience in working with students from
varied cultural backgrounds.
