The School of Applied and Engineering Physics (A&EP) boasts one of the premier applied physics research programs in the world as well as the country's premier undergraduate engineering physics program. Our faculty members, their research groups, and the quality of our educational programs and graduates are all internationally recognized.
The EP program at Cornell was recognized in the 2009 edition (Aug. 2008 release) of the US News and World Report as the #1 ranked engineering physics/enginee....more info
The Energy Materials Center at Cornell and the School of Applied & Engineering Physics have immediate opening for a Postdoctoral Research Associate under the direction of Professor Joel Brock.
The research program is focused on real-time structural studies of electrochemical and catalytic processes at the solid/liquid interface using synchrotron based x-ray techniques. The goal of the project is to develop and utilize hard x-ray (e.g., 80 KeV) diffraction at CHESS to characterize in situ and in real-time the atomic structure of novel materials, interfaces, and heterostructures developed for fuel cell and catalysis applications.
