Areas of scientific focus include, but are not limited to: shelfbreak dynamics, river plumes, estuaries, abrupt topography, sediment transport, and new technology/ applications. It is anticipated that multiple coastal oceanographers will be hired over the next 3‑5 years. The two departments have overlapping interests and a history of collaboration in coastal oceanography. WHOI also offers a,rich environment for interdisciplinary coastal research beyond physics and engineering. Applicants should have a doctoral degree and a publication record in physical oceanography, ocean, civil or environmental engineering, or a related field.
