Job Description
Biophysics @ Princeton

As part of a continuing effort to strengthen research and teaching at the interface of physics and biology, Princeton University will make one or more appointments of theorists who have recently completed their PhDs.  Postdoctoral Research Associates will join a highly interactive group, with interests ranging from the dynamics of single molecules to neural computation, and from biochemical and genetic networks to collective behavior in populations; several senior theorists are available as mentors, and there are opportunities for collaboration with experimentalists on this full range of problems. Postdocs are hired for one year with the expectation of reappointment, typically for a total of three years.

In addition, exceptional candidates who are ready to lead their own research programs will be considered for appointment as Lewis-Sigler Fellows (Associate Research Scholar). This is an independent position for a three year term with the expectation of reappointment for another two years. Subject to approval by the Dean of the Faculty, Fellows have the opportunity to teach in an interdisciplinary program for undergraduates as well as to guide students in research projects. They receive a research budget and, when they teach, they are appointed to the faculty as Lecturer in Physics.

Applications should be submitted online at http://jobs.princeton.edu by December 15, 2009, using Req #0900514. Applications should include a curriculum vitae, a list of publications, a short description of their research interests and 3 letters of reference.

Princeton University is an equal opportunity employer and complies with applicable EEO and affirmative action regulations.
