Los Alamos National Laboratory is a multidisciplinary research institution engaged in scienceand engineering on behalf of national security. The Center for Integrated Nanotechnologies (MPA-CINT) invites outstanding candidates for an opportunity in the Quantum Materials Systems (QMS) Thrust discipline. CINT is a Department of Energy/Office of Science Nanoscale Science Research Center operated jointly by Los Alamos and Sandia National Laboratories. The successful candidate will be involved in independent research and user interactions related to the QMS thrust’s research themes, such as understanding and controlling quantum effects of nanoscale materials and their integration into systems spanning multiple-length scales. This position will be filled at either the Scientist 2 or 3 level, depending on the skills and experience of the selected candidate.
Scientist 2 ($87,800 - $144,800)
Scientist 3 ($96,600 - $161,300)

Ph.D. in a relevant science or engineering field (quantum materials and systems)
Experience performing high-impact research and demonstrated record of scientific achievement (through publications, citations and presentations) in the areas of quantum materials and systems
Experience developing a new experimental capability
In addition to qualifications outlined above, Scientist 3 level requires:
Experience leading research as a principal investigator, as well as developing collaborative research projects
Experience supervising technical support personnel and/or research groups
Demonstrated success as the lead for proposal development efforts and participation in/leadership of research projects of major impact to the scientific community
Recognized reputation as evidenced by presentations and services on scientific societal committees at the national level
