The Physics Department at Marquette University invites applications for a full-time, tenure track position as an assistant professor to begin August 2019. The department offers Bachelor of Science degrees in Physics, Biophysics, and Applied Physics, and is seeking candidates with a Ph.D. in Physics or a closely related field. The department is especially interested in candidates that can strengthen its Biophysics program, although applicants pursuing research in any AIP recognized area of physics are welcome to apply.
Applicants must have a strong interest in undergraduate teaching and engaging undergraduate students in research. Academic responsibilities include teaching introductory and upper level courses offered by the Department. The successful applicant will also be expected to develop a strong research program and to maintain a high level of scholarly activity. There is considerable opportunity for collaborative research on and off campus.
The Physics faculty especially encourages candidates from underrepresented groups to apply. Review of applications will begin November 15, 2018 and continue until the position is filled.
